On a personal note, my first exposure to betrayal trauma was when I was eleven years old.
As my mother and I were driving down a busy Las Vegas highway, I happened to spot my dad’s vehicle on the opposite side of the highway. I found it odd that there was an unexpected passenger in his car who also happened to be my aunt (his sister-in-law). We followed his car to a restaurant parking lot where I witnessed some of the unfortunate effects of betrayal.
